Boost Productivity When Working in Your New Home
One of the items people often look for in a new home today is a home office space that is conducive to working productively. If you’ve found your dream home, check out these tips to help you design your home office with productivity in mind.
First, choose a space within the home that has the least amount of traffic. Whether it’s the bonus room upstairs or a small den beside the laundry room, you want a place where there won’t be a lot of people in and out. A space where you can all but disappear from the outside world, even if the family is at home or the kids’ friends are over.
Second, just like you want to paint your bedroom a calming color in order to feel restful at night, you want to select a paint color for your office that promotes productivity. For instance, the color “green” is supposed to be great for boosting productivity.
If possible, choose a room with a window. Having natural light shine in can help when your mind goes blank. And don’t forget to add a plant or two—even if they’re not real. Plants can help add some character to a room, as well as be a wonderful sounding board!
